What You Will Do

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for financial management and information technology programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accessing data sources, establishing data connections, and pre-processing data for analysisAggregate, clean and organize datasets from disparate sources and perform quality assurance of these tasksManipulating large data sets, data mining, and structuring of raw data using open sources tools such as SQL and Python to formulate or recognize patterns to generate new information and unlock information and insights that help the organization drive decision makingDesigning data modeling processes, creating algorithms and predictive models, and performing ad hoc/exploratory data analysis to support data-driven decision making, including use of advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling and machine learningEnsuring data governance and quality assurance standards are metHelp define data quality metrics associated with the quality of data ingested into DatabricksOrganizing and leading client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action itemsDelivery of client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development

What You Will Need

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public TrustBachelor's degree is requiredTHREE (3) or more years of data experienceExperience in performing data analytics to address management and operational challengesAdvanced proficiency in data analytics programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python, and DatabricksProficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS ExcelPrior experience with statistical analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning, and artificial intelligenceProficiency in creating artificial intelligence/machine learning modelsProficiency in AWS software including AWS Sagemaker, Kendra, Glue, RDS, Athena, Aurora, and/or BedrockPrior experience working on Agile teamsCollaborating and working in a team environment, as well as the ability to work independentlyIdentifying and addressing client needs, building relationships with clients, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, communicating potential conflicts to a supervisorCommunicating effectively to various audiences, including various levels of management and external clients, in a professional environmentAbility to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staffAbility to commute to client or corporate offices within the Washington, DC metropolitan area 2-3 days per week.
