ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Intermediate UNIX Systems Administrator supporting the Web Development Team, Regional Cyber Center - CONUS (RCC-C) at Fort Huachuca, a 24x7 enterprise support organization.

This position will consist of:

Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat OS hosting application serversMonitoring log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission-critical systemsParticipate in an on-call rotation for support and server maintenance issuesEnsuring the security posture of the environment by applying and maintaining DISA STIG requirementsEngaging in continuous learning to stay abreast of relevant new and emerging technologies and security practicesWork independently and with others as part of a development teamAbility to set priorities and organize work to meet deadlinesEnsure compliance with standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesMaintain a cooperative working relationship with those contacted during the workdayREQUIRED SKILLS:

Experience with installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading Red Hat OS (6, 7, 8, and 9).Working knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systemsWorking knowledge of bash scriptingFamiliarity with DISA STIG regulations and mitigating findingsAbility to work independently without direction or guidance, as well as with a teamExperience with designing new system architecture, including multiple servers, redundancy, load balancing, etc.Experience with testing web applications for usability and functionalityBasic knowledge of networking, databases, server hardware, and virtualizationExperience with or aptitude to learn advanced scripting, automation, programming, web-application developmentBasic knowledge of working in an agile development environmentEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires HS + 4 years of similar experience, AA/AS + 2 or BA/BS +0.IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP or equivalent) required at startRedHat, Linux or other certification from 8570 CE list required within 180 days after start date. List can be provided by request.Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim Secret
