Global Science & Technology, Inc (GST), a growing scientific and high technology company, is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR).

This position is located in College Park, MD, but is approved for a hybrid model of onsite and telework.

Position Summary

GST is seeking to hire an experienced Executive Assistant who will report to the Director of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR). STAR functions in the very interesting and dynamic National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). Your primary duty is to support the STAR Director.

Primary Duties

Support the STAR Director, and more broadly contribute to NESDIS-STAR administrative support functions, analysis and planning.Prepare, document, consolidate, and deliver meeting slide/documentation and other briefing materials.Develop and assist with the administrative support planning process.Implement and document plans and schedules for project leadership.Prepare status reports for presentation by project leadership, as necessary.Identify potential problems/risks and recommend solutions for Director action items.Assist with the development of project management templates and guidelines.Verify documentation and project and action items delivery.Develop and maintain documentation: for example, Technical Task Agreements; process documents; policy documents; strategy documents, etc.Required Education/Experience/Skills

Education Level Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Organizational Management, or related field or relevant experience and skills in lieu of degree.Science background and/or work experience in a scientific organization is preferred.Eight to sixteen years of experience working in administration, planning, documentation, coordination and meeting planning.Knowledge of a variety of PMO coordination tools & methodologies; specifically, SmartSheets, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.Knowledge of a variety of computer administrative and financial applications/tools; including Google and Microsoft and the ability to learn new tools quickly.An ability to think strategically but also having tactical skills in day-to-day support and teamwork, strong inter-personal skills, good communication skills, strong analytical skills, self-starter, and self-learning.Proven high competency in professional communication and preparation of read-ahead and other briefing materials are must-have skills.Selected applicants will be subject to a government background investigation.GST offers competitive salaries; vacation, sick, and holiday leave; major medical, dental, life, long-term and short-term disability insurance; 401K retirement plan; tuition assistance; and opportunities for employee career growth and development.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veterans' status, sexual orientation and gender identity.
