The Director of Alumni Communication & Digital Engagement strategizes, creates, implements and manages all Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy efforts to effectively communicate engagement opportunities to Seton Hall's alumni and constituents. The Director is the department's primary liaison to University Relations, promoting the University’s alumni and family engagement activities to inspire its alumni to become connected, engaged, and invested in the progress of Seton Hall University. The Director will pay special attention to engaging alumni and constituents digitally through various forms of communication. The individual will manage Seton Hall's various digital platforms. Additionally, the individual will direct engagement and philanthropic communications through various video and social media marketing campaigns. This leadership role includes the management of the Seton Hall Alumni Benefit's program.

The Director will play a key role in all alumni comprehensive campaign communications. They will help provide direction and content to communications and marketing related to a comprehensive campaign. This will include direct mail, emails, newsletters, collateral material, social media, and web updates.

The Director will be involved in all aspects of Alumni Engagement, including communication, digital, experiential, leadership giving and volunteer engagement by working collaboratively in a fully integrated engagement team. The Director will manage a minimum of two professional employees

Duties and Responsibilities:1. Create and implement a comprehensive, strategic alumni engagement & philanthropic communications and marketing plan, with special attention to integrating these plans with the upcoming comprehensive campaign. Develop, based on division and campaign goals and initiatives, appropriate messages designed to engage more alumni in more ways with Seton Hall University. Cross-market alumni benefits, services, events, solicitations and programs across communication venues. Prepare content for print and electronic publications. Take the lead on the development of story ideas and communications for social media, the alumni magazine and alumni website. Create and direct various video marketing messages for philanthropic appeals, events, benefits, programs, and services. Direct the distribution of the monthly Pirate Press newsletter. Oversee other department communication and digital functions such as the alumni email account. Help build the Seton Hall, University Advancement and Campaign brand.

2. Build digital alumni engagement by interacting with alumni in a variety of ways. Manage the various Seton Hall digital platforms. Increase the number of alumni utilizing these platforms. Develop new ways to creatively engage alumni and fundraise digitally, including, but not limited to social networking, podcasting, webcasting, and surveying. Mange the alumni benefits program, including the distribution of the Alumni benefits card. Oversee virtual alumni events. Implement virtual components to existing in-person alumni events.

3. Work collaboratively with University Advancement, the Law School, University Relations, Athletics, and additional campus partners, and as an integrated member of the Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy team. Create synergies amongst these groups and internal University Advancement colleagues to streamline marketing and communications throughout the campaign. Act as the primary liaison to University Relations as it pertains to mass Advancement communications. Participate in all aspects of alumni engagement, including philanthropy, communication, digital, experiential, leadership giving and volunteerism. Build mutually beneficial relationships that inspire loyalty and financial support, strengthen the institution’s reputation, and involve alumni in meaningful activities to advance the institutions mission. Attend various engagement events, capture photos and videos for social media, and act as a front-facing member of the engagement team.

4. Supervise professional staff members and graduate assistants. Motivate staff, set aggressive but attainable goals and lead the team to hit alumni engagement and campaign goals. Employ the latest "best practices" to effectively use existing and emerging technologies. The professional staff members and GA’s will be responsible for alumni benefits, communications, virtual experiences, and digital engagement.Required Qualifications:BA in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar with 3-5 years experience with demonstrated professional, mature work habits, exceptional communication skills, the ability to work on tight deadlines, deal with very diverse audiences and understand and be successful within various media environments. Experience in engagement, philanthropy, and comprehensive fundraising campaigns, along with developing and implementing social media plans and managing professional employees is required. Demonstrated success preparing marketing plans, with a proven track record of high-quality communications and publications.Desired Qualifications:Masters Degree preferred.Salary Grade:AD190 - AdministrativeExempt/Nonexempt:
