The Director of Engagement Communications is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of a strategic communication plan, content, social media, digital initiatives, and integration of interactive media into the overall Office of Engagement business strategy. In addition, the Director will lead the Engagement team with traditional and online marketing and communications strategies.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide a comprehensive communication plan and strategy for the Office of Engagement using various communication tools including social media, website, and email.Develop a social media plan to define the voice and build followers for the University of Miami Alumni Association brand.Lead community management efforts across all social media platforms, focusing on brand outreach and engagement.Create and manage the social media content calendar, engaging with the UM Alumni Association’s online community.Monitor and engage with brand mentions to maintain a positive online reputation for the UM Alumni Association.Lead social media data reporting and analysis efforts, providing insights into performance metrics.Monitor the ’Canes Communities and alumni affiliate group social media channels to enhance communications.Provide social media support for community events.Collaborate with other campus social media managers on projects.Develop and manage paid digital campaigns ensuring alignment with strategy.Create content that positions the brand as a place of intellectual strength.Work to refine the brand voice of the UM Alumni Association.Analyze social media analytics to improve performance.Write optimized copy for alumni publications.Manage the production of traditional and digital creative.Partner with University and Development Communications for alumni communications.Work with the Office of Engagement on newsletters and events digest publications.Ability to design graphics for digital communications.Provide traditional marketing and communication strategies.Generate and manage reports on communication campaign results.Create interactive content for the University of Miami Alumni Association website.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Passion for emerging media trends and technology.Working knowledge of photography, videography, and graphic design.Online writing experience and knowledge of social media tools.Expert knowledge of major social media platforms.Proficient in social media publishing and reporting tools.Exceptional copywriting and editing skills.Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach.Creative, diplomatic, well-organized, and able to work in a team.Flexibility and responsiveness to complex problems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Education & Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.Five plus years of experience in marketing, public relations, or online marketing.Experience in developing social media strategies.Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered.About Us
