SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join teamIPS. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure access to educational resources for students, teachers, and staff. Your expertise in cloud technologies and strong problem-solving skills will be instrumental in supporting our district's mission to provide high-quality education. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure, utilizing best practices and industry standards. - Monitor and optimize cloud services to ensure scalability, availability, and performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their cloud infrastructure requirements and provide technical guidance and support. - Implement and manage cloud security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data protection. - Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. - Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity. - Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, and recommend improvements and enhancements to our cloud infrastructure. - Assist in the evaluation and selection of cloud service providers and tools. - Document and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Provide training and support to end-users on cloud-related tools and services. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred) - Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, preferably in an educational or public sector environment. - Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. - Experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. - Familiarity with cloud automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible or Chef. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash (preferred) - Understanding of networking concepts, including virtual private networks (VPNs), subnets, and firewalls. - Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) principles and practices. - Experience in cloud security best practices and familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR and FERPA. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
