Job Purpose

Production Operator I are responsible for maintaining themachines that stacks and packages the finished cases to be prepared to ship.Employees will be responsible for replacing the shrink wrap and slip sheets whensupplies are low. Production Operator I are also responsible for the handstacking area when the machine is down or there is overflow. This area requiresemployees to stack boxes from the conveyor belt to the pallets then be takenaway to the appropriate area. Finally, all employees are responsible forcleaning various stations of the factory during shut down/start up once a week.

The performance ofthe duties outlined below must be carried out within the mission of theCompany:to become the preferredsupplier of fats & oils, shortening flakes, shortening chips, vegetable oiland soybean oil in the Food Industry. In pursuit of this mission, you willendeavor to provide superior product quality and superior customer service at acompetitive price.

Safety & Environmental Performance

Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.Adhere to GMP's and other work procedures as to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely

Work RequirementsShrink plastic wrap overall packaging of product onto a palletReplace shrink wrap, slip sheets and top sheet rolls of plasticPhysically grab the cases off of the conveyor belt and stack them on a pallet when a press is down or there is overflow in the plant.Help with cleaning an maintenance when production is stopped and started on separate days if the week.

Cost ControlReduce the amount of rework byparticipating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherenceto process guidelinesEnsure work is completed tocustomers specificationsContribute to the effort incontrolling costs and minimizing waste in your daily workFix pallets that come offpalletizer incorrectly (tape, label, etc)

Qualifications

High school diploma with some aptitude in machines and industrial knowledge.Must be able to climb, bend and stoop, lift 50 lbs frequently and stand/walk for long periods of time.Able to multitask.Prior manufacturing experience desired (2 years).

Working Conditions

The job is performedin a manufacturing plant.Exposure toloud noises, dust, dirt, heat, sparks, oil and smoke may occur.Protective safety equipment is requiredincluding appropriate clothing, shoes, and goggles as needed.Activities include extended periods ofstanding and extensive work with various devices and heavy machinery.Floors may be slick.Constant vibration from shaker table while packing boxes.Hot and cold temperatures depending on the time of year.Exposure to the elements is necessary.
