The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of of outpatient and inpatient consultative cardiology. Highly motivated and ambitious candidates who are interested in general cardiology as well as those with a focused interest in developing a clinical practice in emerging specialties including cardio-oncology, women's cardiovascular disease, aortopathy and aortic medicine, vascular medicine, HIV cardiovascular disease, and geriatric cardiology are highly desired. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease.

Teaching responsibilities may include the education of medical students, residents, cardiovascular fellows and advanced practice providers. Selected candidates will be expected to contribute to the educational mission of the organization. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.

Clinical responsibilities may include the development of an outpatient clinical practice as well as attending on the inpatient services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and associated practice sites. Opportunities for non-invasive imaging will be considered based upon divisional needs and candidate expertise.

Physicians in the consultative cardiology section work closely with the other clinical sections including heart failure and electrophysiology as well as the cardiac and vascular surgeons to provide exceptional care for complex conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to the continued growth and clinical development of the division.
