Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, operate a school bus or district vehicle over designated routes in transporting regular and special education students to and from school, activities and events; provide safe and efficient transportation for District students; perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of vehicle; assist in the loading and unloading of physically and mentally handicapped students as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education: High School graduate or the equivalent.

Experience: One year experience in the operation of a motor vehicle. Any combination of training and/or experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:License: Possession of a valid California, Class A or B, driver license. Proof must be submitted with the application.

Certificates: Valid California Special Driver Certificate with transit or zero restrictions, and which may require a valid First Aid Certificate; valid Medical Examiner's Certificate. Proof of all documents must be submitted with the application.

Other: May be required to wear a bus driver's uniform.

Other: Bilingual/Spanish desired.
