The Operational Radiography Analyst role, located in Albuquerque, NM is an onsite position within NNSA’s NA-84 Office of Nuclear Incident Response, Nuclear Emergency Support Team’s (NEST) Standards & Training Program (NSTP). This role serves to support the NSTP team.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Evaluate transmitted field diagnostics data for accuracy.Interact with responders in the field to improve data quality as neededInteract with the Joint Technical Operations Team (JTOT) and NSTP Standards division to ensure data accuracy standards are met.Collaborate with the NSTP Curriculum Development and Training teams to ensure training activities and exercises are well coordinated with the THT.All other duties as assigned.Approximate travel requirement up to 20%.Conditions of Employment:
DOE site access and JTOT interactions will require the qualified candidate be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOE Q security clearance. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of obtaining a security clearance may be required as a condition of employment.Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances may be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites; the candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests may be required as a condition of employment.Able to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers, under sometimes stressful conditions.Able to work after hours when required during exercises.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/science related field or a H.S. diploma and 6+ years’ experience in direct counter WMD/Rad/Nuc work.Experience in industrial or medical radiography or other Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) or Examination (NDE).Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Willingness to work in an environment that changes rapidly.Must be an independent, self-starter with excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task and be comfortable working with a team of technical experts in varying fields of security and emergency operations disciplines.Detail oriented.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to perform in a dynamic environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Active Q ClearanceExperience in spectral analysis and nuclear diagnosticsExperience in CWMD/Rad/Nuc processes and procedures
