The Division of Neurology at a renowned children's health organization in Northern Florida is seeking a Chief of Neurology to lead the division in its clinical and academic mission.
Division Overview:
Staff: Includes 9 Pediatric Neurologists and a Pediatric Neurology Residency program with 3 trainees per year (total 15 child neurology residents), in association with a leading medical college. The division also includes 3 neurosurgeons.Facilities: Affiliated with a 280-bed children's hospital, featuring an 8-bed neuro-critical care unit with access to portable MRI and intracranial long-term monitoring.Epilepsy Program: Home to an NAEC Level 4 epilepsy surgery program, offering presurgical evaluations, intraoperative monitoring, minimally invasive robotic surgery, responsive neurostimulation, and a ketogenic diet program.
Chief Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership: Optimize clinical services within the division and ensure an appropriate clinical load.Academic Excellence: Lead and support the academic missions, fostering the attainment of external funding in coordination with the research strategy.Training and Education: Support clinical training and education for medical students, residents, and fellows.Research: Create a culture where participation in clinical research is recognized as the best standard of care for improving patient outcomes and support faculty in clinical trial development.Recruitment: Recruit and retain well-trained and qualified professional staff for the division.Management: Provide fiscal stewardship and operational management.

The children's health organization has a long-standing affiliation with a 280-bed free-standing children's hospital. The main campus clinic and ambulatory space connect via skybridge to the hospital, ORs, and inpatient units. Research opportunities abound as data and trials can span all four sites within the integrated multistate organization. The children's hospital is the top destination in the region for premature and critically ill newborns in their 70-bed Level IV NICU and is the area’s only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The academic partnership with the leading medical college allows faculty to enjoy academic appointments commensurate with their expertise.
