Position Description:
The Vice President will be responsible for developing new investor relationships including institutional investors, wealth management firms, and family offices. The Vice President will fundraise across the full suite of S2 offerings including value-add closed-end funds, a core-plus open-ended REIT, and potentially new vehicles in the future. This role will report to the Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations and collaborate closely with senior leaders across the company.
Essential Functions:
Develop new investor relationships across institutional, private wealth, and family office channels
Keep existing investors informed regarding activities of the current and future investment vehicles (value-add fund series and open-ended structures)
Collaborate with other members of the Investor Relations team (team of 4 people currently)
Assist with periodic fund updates for existing partners (e.g., whitepapers, presentations, etc.)
Document preparation (e.g., review fund partnership agreements, amendments, consents, etc.)
Collaborate with the investment team on due diligence questionnaires, requests for proposals, and various ad-hoc requests to current and potential limited partners
Work closely with Legal, Portfolio Management, and Compliance to execute fund closings
Prepare, review, and distribute materials for new business initiatives
Review and have a thorough understanding of the supporting underwriting models
Participate in industry conferences and represent the firm among potential partners
Consult regularly with Chief Compliance Officer to ensure compliance on regulatory matters
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (business or finance preferred)
7 or more years of experience with institutional fundraising, managing investor relationships, and a proven track record of creating positive relations within the investor community
Demonstrated success raising assets from institutional and wealth management platforms for multifamily focused real estate funds
In-depth knowledge of real estate investments
Excellent analytical, financial, and quantitative skills, with the highest level of attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; the ability to draft engaging and impactful messages
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with little supervision
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a variety of personalities and positions
Must be able to regularly travel for meetings with investors and business events
Strong understanding of SEC laws and securities disclosure requirements, as well as filing requirements
