Title: Bus Driver FLSA:Non Exempt Hourly:$18.59- $21.35 Reports to: Director of Transportation Length: 10-month employee
Summary : The bus driver has the mission of providing safe and efficient transportation of all students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :
Pick Up and deliver students to assigned and as close as possible to route schedule. Maintain orderliness of students while they are on the bus. In case of any accident or emergency, follow proper reporting procedures. Return directly to bus garage after completion of route Wash, clean and check bus for any mechanical problems. Report any concerns to Director of Transportation When on field trips, cooperate with adult supervisor to make outing a pleasant experience. Take charge of any "lost" bus child to be sure they are not left unsupervised. If no school authority can be found, deliver child to the bus garage. Complete, sort and file trip sheets. Assist in maintain cleanliness of buses and of the garage. Know proper bus emergency evacuations procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Transportation. Supervisory Responsibilities : Bus drivers must supervise all children riding on their bus with assistance of the Bus Assistant.
Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience : High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, License Registrations Hold a valid State of Illinois Type C Driver's License and an State of Illinois permit to operate a school bus.
Terms of Employment : Academic year Monday- Friday 6:30a.m. -9:00 a.m.
AND
1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Overtime options are available
