IT Infrastructure Cloud Operations EngineerFull-time/Permanent3 days/week onsite in NYCWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Infrastructure Operations Systems and Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and scalability of our on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in both traditional IT operations and cloud technologies to optimize performance, automate processes, and drive continuous improvement.Responsibilities:
Manage and administer on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and operating systems.Design, deploy, and manage cloud resources on platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and proactively identify and resolve potential problems.Implement and maintain security best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments.Migrate on-premises infrastructure and applications to the cloud (as needed).Partner with developers and other IT professionals to ensure alignment between infrastructure and application needs.Stay up-to-date on the latest IT infrastructure and cloud technologies, including emerging trends and best practices.Required Skills:
Proven experience managing and administering on-premises IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking).Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS).Experience with system monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.Desired Skills:
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet).Experience with cloud cost management and optimization tools.Certifications relevant to on-premises and/or cloud infrastructure (e.g., CompTIA A+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator).Soft Skills:
