Summary:

Directs the planning, development, management and adoption of patient engagement and clinical information technologies across the enterprise to drive and promote organizational goals. Manages relationships with vendors and partners with multiple departments to improve patient support offerings and patient engagement. Responsible for the overall operation, continued enhancement and success of MetroHealth's personal health record software (MyChart/MyChart Bedside) in the inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as software and other tools to helping with on-site administrative and clinical check-in (Welcome). Responsible for the planning, development, and management of the MetroHealth Systems' participation in federal government health information technology financial incentive/penalty programs. Serves as a liaison between the clinical, financial, quality, reporting, medical staff office, and technical disciplines. Applies critical thinking and analysis of clinical workflows while integrating information technology into clinical practices. Leverages clinical information systems to promote organizational consistency and efficiency through streamlined and optimized workflows. Directs and mentors a clinical informatics team to design & optimize systems design to meet the needs of inter-disciplinary end users, including physicians, nurses, ancillary, clinical and administrative staff. Oversees the development and delivery of clinical information systems training programs for all clinical disciplines across The MetroHealth System. Ensures design of clinical information systems upholds quality, regulatory and best-practice standards. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:Required:Graduate of an approved program of nursing and currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio.Bachelor's degree in nursing and master's degree in informatics (e.g. MSN in Nursing Informatics, Master's Health Informatics) or a health-related field.Magnet recognized certification in nursing informatics (NI-BC).5 years clinical nursing experience.5 years of experience with electronic medical records (specifically Epic) in a healthcare environment.7 years progressive responsibility in managerial/administrative leadership within clinical/operational area of expertise including skill in budget and cost analysis.Proven leadership, clinical competence, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self-development.Ability to lead and/or collaborate with project and/or interdisciplinary teams.Knowledge of clinical best practices, operations, policies, procedures, workflows, and regulatory requirements.Previous experience with clinical informatics process or workflow analysis or system design.Previous experience with quality and data analysis.Excellent critical thinking and analytical aptitude; ability to translate workflow and practice into an electronic environment.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Reliable transportation to travel between facilities.Preferred:Certification in Epic and/or other applicable software as appropriate for assigned clinical areas.Advanced computer knowledge including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Project. Previous experience with implementing programs to meet regulatory and compliance health information technology standards.Physical Demands:May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.Ability to read job related documents.Ability to use computer.
