General Summary:
The Director of Development is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on strategies to 1) increase individual giving for both the short and long-terms and 2) manage special events for visibility and fundraising, and 3) manage database systems for donor contact and giving. Director of Development reports to the Executive Director (ED).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Individual Giving
1. Develop, execute, monitor, and report on progress of strategic and operational plans to increase the number of giving donors and revenue for both the short and long-terms.
2. Develop and execute specific stewardship strategies for increasing the number and giving of individual donors (currently set at $1,000 annually). This includes new prospects, retention, and recapture.
3. Strategically manage electronic and written fundraising appeals.
4. Create and execute individualized donor cultivation strategies, including hosting site visits and personalizing donor solicitation proposals and stewardship reports.
5. Develop new donor prospect lists based on giving history, research, and anecdotal knowledge. Identify existing and new individual donors who have potential to become major gift donors.
6. Support the development and stewardship of the newly forming SLM Leadership Council.
7. Develop and implement planned giving program.
Special Events
1. Conceptualize, plan, and execute special events to increase fundraising revenue and visibility for Saint Leonard’s Ministries.
2. Develop and meet/exceed fundraising goals for such events.
3. Build base of individual and corporate sponsors for such events.
Internal Collaboration
1. Provide input and feedback on communications and marketing strategies and tools.
2. Coordinate with church relations and engagement efforts in order to identify, secure, and retain individual donors.
3. Be active member of Saint Leonard’s Ministries Board Fund Development Committee, with goal of engaging the Board more in fundraising.
Constituent Management and Reporting
1. Manage Little Green Light database system and entry for tracking of all donor contact and giving.
2. Develop and maintain LGL database management guide to ensure consistency and accuracy of entry and reporting.
3. Implement and refine reporting systems to analyze fundraising activity and outcomes (contacts, revenue, types of giving, retention rates, etc.).
4. Ensure all donations, including in-kind, are promptly and accurately acknowledged within one week.
5. Reconcile all donations at least monthly with Finance Department.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
