The Simulation group delivers products that accelerate our autonomous vehicle development, testing, and deployment through specialized frameworks and tools. We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to join our Scenario Generation team. The Scenario Generation team is responsible for building the tools to enable scenario generation at scale for both testing and training the AV driving policy. The Scenario Generation team works closely with the rest of the Simulation, as well as our partners Behaviors, Perception, and Safety Engineers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working on Cruise’s Scenario Generation toolkit, including design and implement algorithms, APIs and end to end solutions.Collaborate with customers to generate testing and training scenarios to identify and close gaps.Collaborating with various specialists to get algorithms and ML models deployed and integrated into the simulation stack, with an eye on optimization and simplification of these procedures.Help define and build metrics to evaluate correctness and realism of simulation scenarios.
What You Must Have
Experience writing Python or C++ in a production environment (unit testing, code review, algorithm performance and tradeoffs, etc.)Experience with computational geometry or linear algebraExperience with time-series data analysisFamiliarity with NumPy, SciPy, Python bindings for C++, and plotting/visualization librariesExperience with front-end development TypeScript/JavaScript, and Familiarity with React, Node.Js4+ years of experience in the field of roboticsExperience developing automation scripts (Python and Bash scripts)Strong organizational and communication skills

The salary range for this position is $142,800 - $210,000 Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
