They host various projects, build software experiences, support volunteer communities, and advocate for policies enabling knowledge sharing.About The RoleOur client is looking for a Project Manager for the Communications department. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Program Management, the successful candidate will work closely with multiple teams and departments on projects that support the company's annual plan and its related strategies.Joining a small, strong, experienced team focused on effectiveness—a key annual plan goal, the role will help to support and extend the capabilities of a team in the Communications department. The Project Manager will project manage cross-team initiatives and support collective work while liaising regularly and acting as a supportive project partner to various specialist teams.This is a remote position, collaborating with colleagues across different regions including the USA, the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia.Responsibilities:Collaborating closely with the Senior Manager of Program Management and assisting the department’s project managers on various projects, initiatives, and campaignsTriaging incoming work requests in project management software, ensuring projects are picked up by appropriate teams and tracking their progressCreating project roadmaps, negotiating project scopes, establishing project team norms, defining roles and responsibilities, identifying stakeholders, scheduling regular meetings, and communicating roadblocks, challenges, and dependenciesSupporting healthy team dynamics, documenting project work, running retros, tracking and reporting metricsEnsuring individuals and teams understand commitments, upholding a culture of belonging and accountabilityHelping project teams manage workloads against scope creep and perfectionismSkills and Experience:2+ years of experience in project management or related roles2+ years of experience working remotely with a distributed teamExperience using project management software and the Google suiteStrong project management skills: prioritization, organization, stakeholder management, problem solvingComfort with diverse communication styles, different cultures, and multiple time zonesAbility to anticipate risks, build relationships, influence, and enforce accountabilityDependable and flexible interpersonal communication skillsExperience and comfort with ambiguityDesired Qualities:Mission-driven —belief in the company's missionOpenness and curiosity —interest in working on new and interesting problemsTeam-oriented —inclined toward collaboration and inclusionIntentionally inclusive —motivated by high standards related to diversityResilience —commitment to positive outcomesCreativity —thoughtful and appreciative of creative approachesAdditional Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in an international organization with a distributed workforceUnderstanding of the value of neurodiversityFluency in languages beyond EnglishNon-profit experience
