TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Successful completion of RBT training course and examination for certification.

2. 60 College Credits, or Associate's Degree, or 457 or greater on ParaPro Assessment

2. Ability to communicate effectively

3. Ability to work cooperatively with students and adults

4. Ability to maintain confidentiality

5. The ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Director of Special Services

JOB GOAL: To provide intensive behavior support services to students. The RBT will work

collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement behavior support plans for

students that require consistent and significant behavioral support during the school day. The

RBT will meet all of the requirements of RBT certification. This is not an instructional support

position although an RBT may provide some instructional support to students as needed.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Understand and apply the basic principles of ABA in the classroom setting as directed.Assess student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior.Collect and submit data needed for Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).Document student performance (collect, enter and graph data, write session notes)Implement BIPs to affect behavior changes.Ability to use multiple forms of preference assessments to identify levels of reinforcers.Regularly review, and remain well-versed in a multitude of BIPs in order to implement the plans and monitor plans for multiple students. Provide direct consultation to the BCBA, specific to the analysis of data and recommendations for modifications or revisions to BIPs.Model implementation of BIPS for paraprofessionals and staff when deemed appropriate by the BCBA.Participate as a member of the school's crisis intervention team.Share feedback to certified staff regarding the student's programmingAttend PPT meetings as requested.Attend regular department meetings with BCBA and other RBTs according to RBT guidelines.Maintain consistency of BIPS by communicating and providing input to teachers and other staff.Work with multiple students, wide-variety of ages, as assigned by the administration.Assist with the implementation of district policies and procedures for protecting the safety, health and well-being of learners and staff.Implement strategies developed by teachers /providers that maintain supportive and inclusive environments.Respect individual differences between learners, their families, and school staff.Use strategies that provide learner independence and positive self-esteem.Provide monitoring duties in other learning environments. (lunch rooms, recess, library, buses)RBTs meet standards of professional and ethical conduct.a. Practice the standards of professional and ethical conduct established by the school district.

b. Respect individual differences among students, their families, and school personnel.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services or the building administrator.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits based on the Paraeducators' negotiated agreement and MOA.

EVALUATION:

A building administrator and/or the Director of Pupil Services shall evaluate the RBT with BCBA in writing based on the job description.
