The future CHP business is all about developing a recurring revenue business model with subscription services. Today, these services include our Armor cybersecurity, Parental Controls, and extended warranty & support – but there will be much more in the future. NETGEAR is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Consumer Apps and Services to lead this strategic initiative for NETGEAR. In addition, they would be responsible for leading the development of NETGEAR’s consumer mobile apps – the mobile apps are the key engagement point for our customers across all of our products and services.What will the Director of Consumer Apps and Services do?Be responsible for, and grow the P&L for NETGEAR’s consumer services businessDevelop an app/service product strategy that differentiates NETGEAR in the market… driving more hardware and services salesInspire a passionate team of Product Managers to execute that strategy by leading Agile development teams and driving cross-functional coordinationWork cross functionally to deliver on the key subscription service objectives – notably number of recurring revenue subscribers, service revenue, and service profitabilityIdentify, track, and improve the key metrics that measure our progress against our objectives – trial attach rates, paid conversions, churn, lifetime customer value, onboarding success rate, app stickiness, etc.Own the app & services roadmap and go to market strategy. Use deep analysis of user needs to develop creative strategies for the product and align the technology organization to those strategiesWork with various internal customers to prioritize and execute on our cloud and app investments. Customers include: Nighthawk and Orbi Product Lead, Mobile Hotspot Product Team, Services Product Team, Engineering, and marketingWhat is NETGEAR looking for?10+ years of increasing responsibility driving product marketing/management efforts in consumer-centric technology environmentsProven product innovator in start-ups or start-up-like environments with experience driving multiple successful product through from concept, launch and product-market-fit to scaleProven excellence in driving agile software / services product development from the Product Marketing/Management side (not necessarily engineering management)Proven track record in partnering with design teams to create best-in-class user experiencesA data driven decision maker adept at the use of A/B testing tools and experiment-driven product development practicesExperience leading and scaling a subscription-based consumer services businessHigh degree of technical expertise and business acumenThe ability to balance the financial considerations of the business, the feature-set specifications of the platform, and the time to market requirementsProven ability to “see around corners” in driving product roadmap; anticipating global consumer market trends with a track record of getting there first with best-in-class productsStrong executive presence and maturity. Effective communicator; ability to convey vision and strategy – but also very hands on who digs into the details and does their own analysisA motivating leader capable of instilling excitement and inspiring othersAct fast – one who compiles and analyzes relevant data, formulates conclusions, and makes decisions quicklyEducationBachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical fields is strongly preferred; Master’s degree such as an MBA is preferred.CompensationNETGEAR will offer a highly attractive compensation package that will include base salary, performance-based bonus, equity, compensation, and relocation assistance.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $225,000 -$275,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, professional background, business need and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
