Position Duties and Responsibilities:Obtain Patient's Medical record following the appropriate procedure.Assist the Provider as needed during exams.Transport patients to other clinical areas as needed.Check each chart for the provider's signature, stamp, and each patient's diagnosis, prior to returning the chart to Health RecordsAfter a Physician has verified the medicine and dosage the HCW shall administer medicine and immunizations to patientObtain lab and X-ray results.Answer the telephone and transcribe messages.Ensure that any broken or unsafe equipment is removed from the clinic and in a timely manner and to notify appropriate personnel.Assist with patient flow and give direct patient care as directed.Operate the following medical equipment as directed, such as the Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor, Hand Held Nebulizer, EKG machine (twelve (12) lead), Electronic Thermometer, IX infusion pump (set up only), Tynppanometer, TRANSCUTANEOUS BILIRUBIN METER AND POINT OF CARE TESTING EQUIPMENT. Train and effectively rotate in the bio room handling specimens, using point of care testing, following sterilization procedures for the Trophon machine to effectively disinfect probes.Contact patients regarding appointments, exam/test results, or as directed by provider.Scan documents into patients charts.Schedule patients appointments, perform appointment reminder functions, and contact patients regarding reports as directed.Carry out a variety of receptionist, record keeping, and clerical tasks, as required, to assist personnel who are dedicated to performance of these duties. Examples of these duties include check-in procedures upon patient presentation to the Clinic, and retrieval of patient records and reports required for the encounter.After a Physician has verified the medicine and dosage the HCW shall administer medicine and immunizations using various routes and provide dental fluoride application as ordered in Pediatrics only.Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years.Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.Be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), OR the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists, OR a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, OR other formal program as specified in the position specific Task Order, OR other formal program approved by the MTF.Must be a US Citizen.Potomac Healthcare Solutions offers the following benefits:
