As a data quality leader at Wood Mackenzie, you will lead team/projects and work with our top financial analytics in the energy industry both from internal and external clients to drive data insights through continuous data coverage and quality improvements. We would like to invite a candidate with existing domain knowledge in unconventional upstream oil and gas operations and working knowledge of data operations to join our team.Main Responsibilities

Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams to explore, gather, prioritize, and execute data requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client needs.Create and oversee a robust data quality assurance process, guaranteeing the integrity and accuracy of weekly data deliverables presented to clients.Design and implement models, tooling, algorithms and daily protocols to proactively identify and improve data quality, ensuring our data remains of the highest standard.Lead and inspire the team in the development of innovative algorithms, driving the expansion of new data capabilities to enhance client offerings.Cultivate an environment of learning and growth, providing mentorship and comprehensive training to team members to elevate their expertise in the data domain.Understand the overarching workflow within our data processing platform to efficiently diagnose data quality issues and recommend precise, technical modifications to our data engineering practices for continuous improvement.About You

Technical and data expertise

Domain expertise in unconventional upstream oil and gas operations with technical understanding of publicly reported data sources in North AmericaAwareness in Big Data management: proficiency in managing data quality, metric definition, monitoring, and dashboarding.Experience developing logic, models or algorithms to solve complex mathematical problems.Comfort and experience with SQL, Python, and other programming languages to traverse large data sets.Nice to have: Familiarity with the architecture and operation of distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing. Knowledge of large-scale data warehousing and analytics technologies (AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, S3, EC2, etc.).Customer focus and collaboration

Acting and prioritizing based on deep understanding of customer requirements.Collaboration with Teams: Working with Research, Consulting and Product stakeholders for feature development.Building Partnerships: Enhancing public presence, forming cross-departmental and external partnerships.Leadership and team development

Leadership Experience: Guiding teams or workgroups toward cross-functional objectives.Talent Development: Proven track record of developing high-performance teams.Educational Background And Certification

Bachelors or Advanced degree (Masters degree or higher) in relevant fields such as Petroleum/Reservoir or Chemical Engineering, Mathematics or related fieldAdditional education in data engineering, such as AWS Solutions Architect certification (a plus).Equal Opportunities
