This exciting role as a member of the KAYAK/OpenTable legal team will involve drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial, procurement/vendor, and real estate agreements, and liaising with internal business team members across the world to understand their needs. The role will also involve advising on commercial, real estate, and certain global regulatory issues that impact the business. An imperative, business-critical aspect of this role requires a technological forward-thinking attorney with an eagerness to embrace, learn, utilize, and champion artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiencies and train/educate the KAYAK/OpenTable legal team on this rapidly evolving technology. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented, and highly efficient individual with good judgment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and great interpersonal skills.In this role, you will:Draft, review and negotiate inbound and outbound agreements, including client and partnership commercial agreements, licensing, real estate leases and ancillary documents, vendor agreements (IT, SaaS, services, sales, product), and other agreementsProvide sound and timely advice to business partners regarding legal and other risks and recommending strategic solutions and alternativesEmbrace, learn, apply, and champion AI tools in an in-house legal departmentEnable adoption of AI tools to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, contractual, and security requirementsLead, coordinate, and improve internal AI usage review processes and educate our team and employees on technical, legal, and regulatory developmentsResearch and advise on unique legal issues impacting the companiesConduct thorough review and analysis on various product and features initiatives and craft guidance to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsProvide legal counsel on a variety of topics as the need arisesPlease apply if:JD from a nationally or internationally-recognized law schoolAdmission to a State BarMinimum of 4-5 years’ experience reviewing complex contracts and working directly with partners throughout an organization including commercial sales, real estate, product, and engineering, preferably within a technology companyProven track record of building trusted relationships with internal business stakeholdersHumble and egoless team player with a sense of levity and humorAbility to review, analyze, draft and negotiate complex contractual termsStrong communication skills, and the ability to communicate and explain complex legal issues to various business partnersForward-thinking legal technologist passionate about artificial intelligence and its integration within a legal departmentAbility to navigate technical details and quickly learn and adopt new technologiesExceptional facility with spotting issues, assessing and communicating risks, making common-sense decisions in the face of ambiguity, and finding flexible/creative solutions to achieve business goalsAbility to balance multiple matters simultaneously and to respond quickly to shifting priorities under tight deadlinesHighly motivated and resourceful with the ability to work proactively and independentlyExcellent judgment, high integrity, and strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a “can-do” attitudeAdaptability and openness to taking on tasks in new or unfamiliar areas of the lawLanguage skills and/or multijurisdictional experience a plus (but not required)Benefits:Generous paid vacationDay off on your birthdayCompany matched retirement plansHealth, dental and vision insurance plansFlexible Spending AccountsHeadspace SubscriptionDrinks, coffee, snacks, games etc.Weekly Catered LunchesFree massages from professional massage therapistsUniversal Paid Parental LeaveThere are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
