The
Director, Supply Chain
provides functional leadership, vision and direction for Puratos Corporation USA in managing all
suppliers, systems policies and procedures and also controls products’ import and export, transportation optimization, demand / forecasting and inventory management to develop a world class supply chain organization. This role applies cross-functional skills as the and works closely with sales, field operations, information systems, manufacturing/commercialization, purchasing, distribution, EHS and finance.The Director, Supply Chain will Implement materials management strategies, including supplier certification and partnering in a global manufacturing and distribution environment by applying an integrated lean/TPM methodology and world-class quality practices while achieving this balancing through fact-based analysis to continuously improve systems, processes and resources as they pertain to the overall supply chain function. This position will d
evelop and maintain strong, responsive and dependable (win/win) relationships within Puratos and suppliers that will allow for combined efforts that will take cost and steps out of the process, thereby improving performance and profits.Primary Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of sound short and long-term supply chain strategies designed to meet customer, sales, marketing, quality, EHS, manufacturing procurement and general operations goalsDevelop, implement and direct logistical and distribution procedures, policies and practices to ensure that materials are transported and inventoried in the most effective, economical manner for optimum supply assurance from a full value chain perspective (order to cash cycles) including overall freight management.Formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of material planning, inventory / demand management, master production scheduling / forecasting and supplier development supporting global operational excellence, customer satisfaction, product leadership, and operating philosophy initiativesDevelop, implement and direct the Sales and Operational Planning process for all USA businesses adopting and embedding industry and Group best practicesResponsible for ensuring that GMP’s, quality initiatives and safe working conditions are present at all time.Ensure various governmental certifications to include, but not limited to FDA, AIB, USDA, OSHA, Rabbinical (Kosher), etc. are adhered to at all times.Develop financial supply chain budgets and conduct ongoing analysis to ensure brand business performance is maximizedDrive Continuous Improvement and Right First Time behaviors throughout the supply chain (logistics coordination, and materials flow)Ensure that effective systems, procedures and financial controls are established within the functional areas of manufacturing, purchasing, warehousing and distribution.Lead SAP sub-domain implementations for USA including developing, implementing and continuously improving Organizational and Supply Chain strategies nationallyThrough leadership and coaching of the direct reports, reviews and modifies the production plan adjusts planning bills regularly, updates mix statistics and other master scheduling related issues in order to ensure that the customer delivery plan is met in the most efficient and cost effective matter availablePrior Knowledge/Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management or business related field or equivalent experienceMBS and Global Sourcing Management experience a plusOutstanding leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills.Lean Six Sigma, MRP II, ERP, APICS, (Note: We should clarify acronyms for those who aren’t as familiar) American Society for Quality (or similar) certifications preferredDemonstrated use of Continuous Improvement, TQM and/or Lean tools including six sigma, value stream mapping, root cause / corrective action, Kaizen events and Kanban and value stream mapping of workflowsMust have extensive experience in supply chain and warehouse management systems, replenishment methodology and industrial engineering methods/techniques including bills of materials and routings, inventory control techniques, materials logistics and flow - FIFO, traffic management and ERP/MRP practices and techniquesExtensive knowledge in leading S&OP and Planning including master scheduling practices (MPS) rough cut capacity (RCCP) analysis and material resource planning (MRP)Experience in dealing with a unionized and non-unionized workforce.Strong experience in the areas of project management and capital expense managementProficient in spreadsheet, database and presentation including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and VisioMust be experienced in implementing and working with SAP or equivalent ERP systemsExceptional written & verbal communication skills.
