Position Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Scientist to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of novel NGS assays and tools with a focus on spatial-omics and sequencing technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in genomics technology and hands-on experience with developing NGS-based assays, as well as a passion for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in genomic research.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and optimization of NGS-based assays, with a focus on spatial-omics and sequencing.
Conceive, design, execute and troubleshoot wet lab experiments that involve sample preparation, library construction, and sequencing.
Operate and troubleshoot NGS instruments, ensuring high-quality data generation.
Perform basic bioinformatics analysis to assess data quality and support the interpretation of sequencing results.
Collaborate with computational biologists to integrate complex datasets and develop innovative data analysis pipelines.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in NGS technologies and contribute to the strategic direction of the company’s research initiatives.
Document experimental procedures, maintain accurate lab records, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
Work closely with the founding team to translate research findings into actionable insights and product development.
Qualifications:
PhD in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-5 years of industry experience as a bench scientist with a proven track record in NGS technology development.
Demonstrated expertise in operating and troubleshooting various NGS platforms.
Strong wet lab skills, including experience with developing sample preparation, library construction, and sequencing methods.
Proficiency in basic bioinformatics and data analysis; ability to write or adapt code for data processing and interpretation.
Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or similar.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
