Established as a community non-profit in 1972, The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ community. The mission of The Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities for the betterment of our entire San Diego region. Our vision is to create a Center and Center culture where every person feels and knows that they are welcomed, valued, and supported. As the beacon for our regional LGBTQ community, we actively recommit to being a more vibrant, bold, innovative, safe, and modern center each day than the day before. The Center is sex-positive and provides advocacy and critical health and social support services to support our community members through all stages of life, focusing on our deeply held values of equity, social justice, and client-centered, trauma-informed care. The Center currently has over 75 staff working at five facilities across San Diego County.

As a part of The CENTER's commitment to the health and safety of our employees, clients, and community members, all employees are required to show proof of being immunized and boosted against the COVID-19 virus.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment:

Post and track new job opportunities.

Schedule and coordinate interviews, candidate interactions and track the candidate process.

Conduct and coordinate pre-employment verifications.

Provide regular reporting and updates.

New Hire Onboarding/Orientation/Separations:

Ensure timely and proper completion of the onboarding process, including all I9 and documentation verification.

Annually updating all required new hire forms.

Assist the Communications department with employee badge generation, distribution, and tracking.

Provide regular reports on new hire onboarding status.

Coordinate all post-separation processes-including insurance termination, COBRA notices, and file/I9 updates.

Benefits Management:

Assist in handling and coordinating all administrative processes for the Annual Employee Open Enrollment process.

Retain and manage all documentation and correspondence.

Handle coordination of communications and training.

Employee Life Cycle Management:

Serve as primary contact for Employee Support Services and owner of P&C Inbox.

Updating the internal Access platform. Sending the required documents for employee changes and ensuring receipt and proper completion.

Handle the coordination, administrative support, tracking, and reporting for the annual performance evaluation process.

Handle the coordination, administrative support, tracking, and reporting for all training.

Administrative

Employee file management, maintenance, and conducting regular audits.

I9 file management, maintenance, and completion of regular audits.

Departmental Inbox, postal mail, and phone calls and respond to requests promptly.

Make updates/revisions to all policies, practices, and process flows.

Handle and respond to all requests for employee verifications.

Maintain/update all departmental SOPs and employee guidance.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience : 1-2 years of facilitating all aspects of the day-to-day operation of a human resources (HR) department. Office administration experience is encouraged.

Professional Skills : Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with all employee levels and senior management, strong planning and organizational skills, and time management.

Technical Skills : MS Office Suite (Intermediate-Level), MS Access, social media.

Language Skills : English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/Experience : Previous experience in nonprofit social justice organizations.

Language Skills : Spanish.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation : The pay range for this position is

$21.00 to $23.00

and is commensurate with experience. This is a

Full-Time Regular Nonexempt .
