Position SummaryThe Director of Human Resources is a pivotal leader responsible for supporting and developing a diverse team committed toexcellence. The HR Director will develop and execute the human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategicdirection of the association, specifically related to creating and maintaining a high performing culture, advancing organization wideprocesses, and implementing new innovations in the HR department, and across the organization. The successful candidate is an experienced HR professional who excels at developing and executing HR strategies, enhancing procedures and standards, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and laws. Deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments as well as exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills are essential to succeed in this position.The ideal candidate will possess a forward-looking approach to HR strategy, a healthy skepticism, and a sense of humor.

Leadership and CollaborationCollaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategies.Develop Human Resource strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business goals and strategies.Oversee and/or administer HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters,performance management, and occupational health and safety.Provide organization-wide support to employees by devising strategies for recruitment, performance evaluation, training anddevelopment, etc.Lead multiple, high-impact projects from conception to implementation, ensuring successful delivery.Standards and ProceduresPlan, lead, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's strategic and compliance needs.Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, andrecommended best practices. Review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.Anticipate and resolve litigation risks.Talent ManagementAnalyze and forecast staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.̈Develop and implement performance management systems that reflect comprehensive performance metrics, coaching, andcareer development.Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for all staff.Maintain and enhance the organization’s award-winning culture with programming, personal development opportunities, etc.

Analysis and Innovation̈Develop and manage HR technology systems and leverage data analytics to make informed decisions about talentmanagement, employee engagement, and other HR functions.Analyze data to report on KPIs.̈Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talentmanagement, employment law, etc. Utilize this knowledge to make recommendations to changes in policy, practice, andresources to senior leadership.Develop practices that promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and agile response to industry trendsand challenges.̈Work closely with all teams to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.

Desired QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in human resources and an advanced degree or certification in human resources, business administration,communications, or a related field.SHRM-CP CertificationA minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR leadership role, with at least 2 years in a senior management position.Proven working experience leading teams and driving organizational innovations.Diligent and firm interpersonal relations, with high ethical standards.Strong leadership qualities, including excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other senior executives.Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills.Communicates in a manner that business leaders understand.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Notice: NAVC is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
