Accounting Manager/Director

Our client is an international consulting firm, and their Houston office is looking for strong candidates with finance and accounting experience to join the Corporate Finance and Operations Consulting team. This firm helps CFOs in making critical decisions directly impacting the success of the business. They provide advisory, project management and interim service, as well as supporting critical finance transformation and performance improvement activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in many of the following areas:

Full-cycle accounting and finance processes and performance improvement (i.e., Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Invoice to Cash)Finance and accounting functional effectivenessCost managementFinancial planning and analysisMerger, acquisition and divestiture supportInternal controls and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)SEC ReportingSupporting external audit processesTreasury managementAccounting remediationBankruptcy reportingExperience serving in CFO advisory and interim leadership capacities a plus

Responsibilities Include:

Assist in the planning and execution project phases, and supervise others as necessary to ensure the following: coordinating work efforts with the client; completion of defined deliverables; adherence to project milestones and timelines; communication of progress to all parties (internal and external); and managing team members, as necessaryProvide service excellence by identifying key client business issuesDetermine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approachesEvaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagementImplement and oversee the quality of deliverablesEffectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performanceParticipate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required6-15 years of relevant consulting, public accounting or industry experienceBig Four public accounting experience a plusOil and gas experience a plusInterim CFO/Controller/Treasury roles a plusStrong knowledge and application of GAAPStrong finance related and ERP software skillsSystems implementation/integration experience is highly desirableStrong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint)Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgmentComfortable with travel up to 80%
