Soni's Client is a NJ based leading Bank that is looking to add a

Director of External Reporting

to their team. They will be responsible for preparing and filing all required corporate external financial reports, including annual SEC reports, managing the income tax function, providing technical accounting expertise, and optimizing the company's tax strategies. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and regulatory reporting requirements, and advanced proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities:

Research and interpret complex accounting requirements and regulations.Ensure the accurate and timely completion of the companies external financial reports, including SEC filings and other required reports.Manage the companies income tax function and prepare and file required tax returns.Identify and implement tax optimization strategies.Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and other related financial disclosures.Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.Develop and/or review system integrations, process improvements, and change management to ensure accurate reporting.Provide technical guidance on accounting practices, business combinations, share-based compensation, complex structures, purchase accounting, and other areas.Develop and review investor presentations, EDGAR and XBRL filings, and ESOP and 401K plans.Perform accounting research and analysis.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or FinanceTechnical accounting expertise in SEC reporting requirements, regulatory reporting requirements, business combinations, share-based compensation, income tax, and complex structuresAt least 4 years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work7+ years of financial reporting experienceExperience applying advanced knowledge level of accounting practices, controls (including SOX 404), and systems for relevant business processesAdvanced proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in Banking or Financial Services industryCPA preferred

Compensation:

$180,000-$200,000Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
