Outpatient Substance Use Specialist

The Adult Outpatient Program is seeking to hire a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional or an individual with a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling with extensive work in the field of addictions to provide individual counseling to adults struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The counselor will be expected to provide assessment, diagnosis, relapse prevention skills, psychoeducation and referrals to higher levels of care through use of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment modalities.

In addition to individual therapy, the counselor will be responsible for: completing session notes within 48 hours of service, completing treatment plans every 6 months, providing crisis management and referring clients to various community resources that will further help them improve their quality of life.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working/interning in the fields of mental health and/or addiction, is able to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as work autonomously and has a sincere desire to help the people we serve.

Weekly individual and group supervision is offered. CCA also offers regular trainings, free of charge, that count towards CEUs.

Education/Licensing:

A License in Chemical Dependency, Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human services discipline with extensive experience in the field of addictions. License eligible or independently licensed.
