Senior Data Engineer

Expected compensation: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure of our SaaS product in the staffing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data processing, storage, and analytics, as well as experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Management: Administer, optimize, and scale our Snowflake data warehouse. This includes managing data storage, computing resources, and performance tuning.Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.Data Integration: Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and availability for analysis and decision-making.Database Management: Manage and optimize databases for performance and efficiency. This includes relational databases as well as NoSQL systems.Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop tools and systems for analyzing data, generating insights, and producing reports to support business decisions.Collaboration with Engineering Team: Work closely with the Ruby on Rails development team to ensure seamless integration of the data layer with the application logic.Data Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard data, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations relevant to the staffing industry.Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of data systems, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for scalability and optimization.

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Database DeveloperBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar field) OR 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Database DeveloperProficiency in SnowflakeStrong expertise in SQL and experience with SQL database design and development.Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing solutions.Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or ScalaExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
