About The Position
The IT Business Systems Analyst delivers workflow documentation and requirements for the Information Technology (IT) Project Management Office (PMO) in support of Maricopa County’s Transportation, Animal Care and Control, Real Estate, Equipment Services, Environmental Services, Flood Control District, and Planning and Development departments. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and has the skills to translate business needs into digestible information that improves departmental processes. We Require
One (1) year of business systems analysis experience, which includes experience serving as a liaison between the community and an IT organizationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fieldA combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Experience working with technology solutionsExperience working on concurrent projectsStrong experience in eliciting, detailing, documenting, and validating requirementsExperience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking, and/or evaluation of business processesAdvanced proficiency with MS Visio and MS Project.Experience working with local or state governmentProject Management Institute Professional Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certificationExperience utilizing the Agile project management methodology

Develops and promotes good business relationships; prioritizes work, and coordinates activities with internal customers and IT colleagues to ensure successful requirements for project delivery.Conducts research and analyzes data for recommendations for best practices, products, and standards to improve major business processes.Gathers and documents high-level business needs and translates them into detailed requirements.Documents processes and procedures using workflow diagrams, use cases, flowcharts, user stories, technical specifications, user-interface mockups, and prototypes.Scopes new project request to enable informed decisions, identify business requirements, and recommend process improvementParticipates in project team meetings and implementation, planning multiple concurrent projects.Supports application defect resolution and conducts root cause analysis.Communicates work status and progress with all levels of the organization to ensure team collaboration.
