GBA is looking for a Project Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation Group in our Lenexa (KC Metro) headquarters. Our experts work with municipal, county and DOT clients on all types of transportation projects. In addition to traditional design-bid-build projects, our team has experience in design-build projects, both in municipal services and for the DOTs. Our Bridge Group is a cohesive and flexible group of engineers who are dedicated to the profession and work well in a team environment. They are highly trained with experience in both bridge design and inspection. GBA provides a complete solution for bridge projects including design, comprehensive inspections, load-ratings, bridge management, and GIS mapping for our clients.
For this position, we are looking for someone who can execute significant portions of bridge design scope with minimal guidance from more experienced staff. The candidate will be a licensed professional engineer, preferably in multiple Midwest states including KS and MO. This candidate will also be called upon to review, sign and professionally seal bridge load ratings in the State of Kansas and Missouri. This role will suit a self-motivated individual who is willing to take on design, plan production, and bridge rating duties within the Bridge Group.
Responsibilities:Execute bridge design work, including conceptual bridge design, preparation of construction documents and cost estimates with moderate guidance from more experienced staffReview, Sign and Professionally Seal Load Ratings in the State of Kansas and MissouriUse personal management skills to plan, organize, and monitor project progressShare technical knowledge through mentoring and training less experienced staffOther duties as assignedRequirements:BS/MS in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or closely related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer in Kansas or Missouri, or the ability to obtain licensure in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, or Illinois within 6 months of hireAt least 6 years of experience in bridge engineering and bridge preservationStrong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practicesWorking knowledge of MicrostationExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organizationWilling to travel to conduct business of the company when and where necessaryMembership in at least one professional organization, with regular participationPossess an attitude and commitment to quality while working in a team environmentIt•s More Than Just a Job•
