Description:Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI), is recruiting for a PRN Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our APP-driven team. Position requires both inpatient and outpatient management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. This is a PRN position working 10-hour shifts as needed including days and weekends. Shifts may be available at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Piedmont Newnan Hospital and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Our APPs independently provide specialized care for patients pre and post electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to ablations (CTI, PVI, AVNRT, SVT, VT, etc), CIED implantation, and provide recognition / management of diverse cardiac arrhythmias in routine and complex patient populations. As an Electrophysiology APP, you will also become competent in device interrogation and interpretation. This position will require decision-making skills, as ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently.
Responsibilities
Performs high-quality patient assessment and management, under physician supervision, in accordance with federal and state regulations, practicing evidenced based medicine
Participates in daily inpatient rounds with Electrophysiologist
Manages direct patient care on inpatient service including rounding, admissions, consultations & discharges
Manages direct patient care on designated outpatient clinics and associated follow up
Orders and schedules diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered
Works minimum of one day and one weekend shift every 6 weeks
Demonstrates teamwork by communicating effectively and working cooperatively with all members of the health care team.
Displays respect and fosters an appreciation towards all members of the PHI team

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Holds current license from the Georgia State Composite Board
BLS / ACLS certified
*Ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years of experience managing Cardiology and/or Electrophysiology patients.
