Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is under the general supervision and evaluation of the Superintendent, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work as part of a team in the diagnoses of communication disorders. Taft City School District serves a range of children Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade with various disabilities including but not limited to Mental Retardation, Visual Impairment, Learning Disabled, Sever Disorder of Language, Emotional Disturbance, Traumatic Brain Injury, Hard of Hearing, Other Health Impaired and Orthopedically Impaired. Many present with medical and behavioral disorders as well as communication disorders. This position serves students in Taft, CA.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: • Bachelor's degree required. • Specialized and professional preparation as the commission may require. • Must possess (or be eligible for) a valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Service Credential, Authorizing Services for Language, Speech and Hearing.
Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
