The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota is recruiting a Transplant Nephrology faculty, consistent with its plans to grow its Kidney Transplant program. The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension's core missions are to provide comprehensive medical care for patients with kidney disease or hypertension, to perform cutting-edge research into the causes and treatment of kidney disease, and to educate physicians in the care of patients with kidney disease. The Division is comprised 14 general nephrologists, and 4 transplant nephrologists, many of whom are world-renown clinicians and researchers.Clinical practice includes outpatient clinics in the state of the art M Health Clinics and Surgery Center, and an inpatient transplant nephrology consult service at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.To learn more about the Division of Nephrology, faculty, staff and our research please visit our website at: https://med.umn.edu/dom/divisions/nephrology-hypertension

M Health and Clinical PartnershipsProviders practice at affiliated locations under the M Health Fairview shared care delivery system. This partnership represents a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview Health Services to build a nationally known academic health system that combines academic and community resources to provide the very best clinical care to patients and communities, while also supporting research and education across the joint healthcare delivery system.MPhysicians:M Physicians is the multi-specialty group practice for the University of Minnesota Medical School faculty clinicians, community-practice clinicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare professionals. Job Responsibilities:In addition to providing excellent clinical care in transplant nephrology, responsibilities include quality assurance and improvement, and participation in Transplant, Division, Department and hospital medical staff meetings. This faculty position is expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and will participate in the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and meet the academic expectations as set for by the Department Chair and Division Director.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:* M.D. or international equivalent.* Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency, Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology fellowship-training programs or Canadian equivalent.* Board eligible/certified with the ABIM in internal medicine and nephrology. In the absence of board certification, consideration will be made to candidates with a clear eligibility to a pathway for obtaining these.* Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.Preferred Qualifications:* Prior or current funding to conduct research or outcomes of kidney transplant recipients, as well as 3-5 years minimum clinical experience in Transplant Nephrology are highly desired, but not required.About the Department
