Provides primary services to patients. Nurse Practitioners will work with direction and supervision from responsible physicians. The Nurse Practitioner will function in an expanded role and will provide urgent and emergent care to patients of patients within the scope of licensure by the state and professional training. While practicing medicine under the protocols of a supervising Physician, will utilize his/her skills, knowledge, and experience to obtain complete medical histories, perform comprehensive examinations, order and initially interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiological studies, collaborates with patient and supervising Physician in the planning of therapeutic interventions for the care of this patient population.

Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Nursing from a State Board of Nursing approved school. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program (Masters or Post-Masters Certificate). Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing and credentialed as a Nurse Practitioner. Must maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
