Compensation: $50.00 per hour
Your Role in the Company
As a Physical Therapist, you will provide physical therapy to patients andestablished plan of care, in a professional, competent manner, while upholdingexcellence with quality of care.
Essential Elements of the Role• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, anddirect our facility's physical therapy, as well as its programs and activities,in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that governnursing care facilities.• Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, aswell as other related departments in planning therapy services.• Represent the facility at and participate in meetingsas directed.• Develop and maintain physical therapy standards.• Assist in standardizing the methods in which physicaltherapy will be accomplished.• Maintain a reference library of written therapymaterial, laws, standards of practice, etc., necessary for complying withcurrent standards and regulations, and that will provide assistance inmaintaining quality resident care.• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinatingpolicies and procedures, resident care plans, physical therapy proceduremanuals, job descriptions, etc.• Review physical therapy policies, procedures, manuals,job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in makingrecommended changes.• Interpret physical therapy policies and procedures topersonnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.• Participate in discharge planning, development andimplementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc., asnecessary.• Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Coordinatorin developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assuranceprogram for physical therapy services.• Assume the authority, responsibility, andaccountability of directing the physical therapy department.• Maintain treatment records, resident files, andprogress notes as required.• Work with the facility's consultants as necessary andimplement recommended changes as required.• Assist in arranging transportation to other facilitieswhen necessary.• Ensure business office receives charges for physicaltherapy rendered to residents.• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to theadministrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the physicaltherapy department.• Maintain an excellent working relationship with themedical profession and other health related facilities and organizations.• Meet with and solicit advice from other departmentsupervisors concerning physical therapy; assist in identifying and correctingproblem areas and/or the improvement of services.• Coordinate physical therapy with other departments.• Conduct departmental performance evaluations inaccordance with established policies and procedures.• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimumof 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move,and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
Qualifications• Must have a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.• Must meet all certification and licensure requirementsas established by the state and national board associations.• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimumof 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move,and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.• Active license in state of work is required.• Excellent organizational and time management skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Basic computer knowledge is preferred.• Active CPR certification.
