Heartland Country Village located just 20 minutes from beautiful Madison, Wisconsin offers skilled and long-term care. This campus offers care for 50 residents and patients who rely on us for life enrichment and quality of care.

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Director/Scheduler for our 50-bed Skilled Nursing Center

. This unit offers short term rehabilitation as well as long term care. The community describes Heartland Country Village as a family, and we are honored to serve every one of our 50 residents with the most compassionate care for over 45 years.

Your Role in the Company

Your success is critical to managing labor expense, assuring regulatory compliance and most of all, employee satisfaction. Standing behind your work is essential since the work schedules ultimately affect quality of care. While the schedule is under control, you have an entire operational team to rally around your efforts and success. When our staff agree to the schedule, they agree to take care of our patients at a specific time. Not complying with the schedule, is like an empty promise to our residents and other team members. So, you, in this role, you create compliance.

Your patience and tenacity with a knack for negotiation are your natural talents needed for this role. You must have a desire to teach and train, as we believe that it goes beyond just “doing the schedule.” It’s an opportunity to scout and manage talent. Your familiarity with high performers with big hearts will help us promote rising stars in the organization. You will also know when staff are well positioned to try something new. And you become a natural mentor for our new hires.

Loving seniors and loving people are the only essential requirements. You must feel comfortable with technology. It’s the backbone of the schedule. The HEART of the schedule is you.

Determine the staffing needs of the business department and hire sufficient staff.

Develop and implement a monitoring system to assure compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

Develop and implement systems to operate the facility in a financially sound manner.

Recruitment, job fairs, retention

Employee engagement

Process all new hires and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Preparation and maintenance of time cards and time sheets.

Calculation and recording of earnings and deductions.

Preparation and distribution of payroll checks.

Maintenance of group health insurance records.

Calculate and record vacation, holiday, sick leave, authorized overtime, leave of absence and termination pay for subordinate employees.

Interview, hire and terminate employees.

File inquiries, reconsideration and appeals, to the appropriate agency or individual(s) for rejected statements.

Follow up on all account collection procedures.

Observe all facility safety policies and procedures.

Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.

Observe infection control procedures.

Observe all facility policies and procedures.

Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.

Assume accountability for all data contained in the employees’ handbook.

Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.

Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator.

Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.

Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.

Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Qualifications:

Prefer a candidate who has experience with skilled nursing billing processes.
