The

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

is a professional who diagnoses, treats and prevents speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders by performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with patient, family and healthcare professionals while administering therapy and monitoring progress. The SLP may work in coordination with Occupational and Physical Therapists on the patients overall plan of care.JOB DUTIES:Consult with patients to learn abouttheir physical condition, deficits and goalsAssess and interpret patient evaluations and test resultsDiagnose, treat and prevent speech, language and swallowing disordersCreate treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patientsPerform screenings to detect voice or speech disordersEducate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic eventsConsult and collaborate with other healthcare professionalsDocument patient care history timely and accurately with great detailReport progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers or medical professionalComply with all rules, regulations and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policyThe
