Cardiothoracic Surgery
The University of Virginia Physicians Group, in conjunction with Riverside Medical Group, is currently seeking a full time, talented Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team at Riverside Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery located at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Under the leadership of Dr. Art Martella, Riverside Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Dr. Ourania Preventza, Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Successful candidate will be a member of the UVA Cardiothoracic Surgery Division through a new strategic affiliation between UVA and Riverside Health Systems.

About Riverside Regional Medical Center:
Riverside Regional Medical Center is a comprehensive medical facility (part of a four hospital system), offering advanced diagnostics, emergency medical treatment with a Level II Trauma Center, advanced cardiac and thoracic treatment options, five cardiac cauterization labs and advanced imaging.
Criteria for the position shall be excellence in the overall mix of cardiothoracic clinical care which includes:Coronary artery diseaseAortic and mitral valve repair/replacementEndovascular interventions, aortic surgeryLung and esophageal surgical disease managementParticipation in clinical trialsHonesty, integrity and an eagerness to workQualifications:
Education:
Graduate of Accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD).Completion of an Accredited Residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery.Licensure:
Board certification, or eligibility, in cardiothoracic surgery. If newly graduated from residency, certification must be obtained within 2 years of graduation. Board certification must be kept current.Unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia,Current DEA certificate without restrictionHow to apply:
