Job DescriptionSALES ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish programs and direct efforts to achieve groups and catering goals based on market segmentation and budgetMonitor sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve the planned goalsDevelop annual sales department budget and execute sales programs and activitiesPrepare departmental budget and forecasts, operating within set parameters and ensure effective cost controlTo establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post conference, exceeding their expectation and encouraging repeat businessExpedite function bookings, proposal and event contractsConduct site inspections when requiredControl function space maximization
SALES PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, select train and motivate Sales department personnel to achieve sales goalsAssure understanding of Job Descriptions, Goals, SOP of Sales Department personnel and conduct formal semi-annual evaluation and ongoing coaching and counselingMaintain established personnel policies and procedures of the hotels
MARKET PLANNING RESPONSIBIITIES
Participate in development and execution of hotel marketing plan to identify sources of group business to the hotel and establish solicitation programs to maximize salesParticipate in development of marketing plan, sales action plan, profit plan, A&P budget and marketing auditsMonitor forecast of all group and FIT segments and identify valley periods of sales emphasis and achieve forecast
COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain close and open communication with other department headsMaintain timely communication with Corporate Sales Offices, STB that can generate leads and provide informationCoordinate communication between Sales and Other Departments to assure awareness of bookings and sales programsMaintain timely and responsive communication with accounts and prospects
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor function space utilization and holding period of tentative groups to maximize catering revenueMonitor group bookings in relation to room availability, room type and customer spending potential to maximize rooms and other revenueEnsure that all contracts are covered by attrition and cancellation clauses to ensure hotel is protected
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that all safety , health, security and loss control policies and procedures and government legislation are adhered toComply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all timesTo carry out other duties as and when assigned by the Management of the Hotel
QualificationsStrong leadership, dynamic personality, excellent interpersonal skills with a good reputation for integrity and a role modelPossess good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of managementExcellent working knowledge of Opera Cloud, S&C and Delphi by AmadeusAbility to manage and develop sales portfolio of clientsFlexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectivelyAbility to plan, direct, organize and control the sales personnelAbility to make decision independently
