Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Engineer assists the project team members in meeting pre-set deadlines while building a quality product in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The Project Engineer maintains company software for project management, estimating and scheduling while providing technical and administrative direction to ensure corporate objectives are met.Responsibilities And DutiesAssists in preparing and updating all assigned project schedules, including subcontractors and material deliveries.Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.Prepares reports and correspondence as directed.Tracks/may generate submittals; may respond to Requests for Information (RFI’s).Assists PM with managing and scheduling subcontractors and other vendors; assists with updating project schedule.Organizes project files.Under PM’s supervision, may provide clarification on contract documents and specifications.Review, organize, maintain, and process contract documents and shop drawings.Setup and maintain job files.Assist in the preparation of the project close-out manuals.Participate in team meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.Ensure work is completed in accordance with quality standards and contract specifications.Implement project schedules including each task associated with project completion.Review project drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.Track project phase completion against milestones.Review all plans and specifications, permits, set of drawings, and owner requirements with the superintendent & project manager.Performs other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.Experience and EducationPrior PE experience preferred.Prior field construction experience preferred.2 - 4 year post-secondary degree preferred.Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in an indoor office environment and an active outdoor construction site environment.Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.Must be able to work in various weather conditions and be exposed to dirt or dust.Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment while at work.Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally.Must be able to work for long periods of time in front of a computer and/or while standing.
