Sr. ITS Traffic Engineer

How will you contribute to the team?Perform ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments of a varied nature.Perform Quality Control checks on drawings for traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, traffic control, lighting, and ITS for transportation projects.Review project submittals, including conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS plans. Confirm compliance with state and federal design criteria and standards. Record review comments and confirm compliance to comments with responses and subsequent submittals.Assist in performing post-design oversight such as shop drawing reviews and construction requests for information.Experience with Testing and Acceptance Specifications necessary for a completely verified ITS implementation.Experience with Design, Deployment & Operation of ITS Technologies.Perform project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management, and marketing assistance.Participate in proposals and business development activities.Prepare staff hour estimates and review scopes of services prior to negotiations for original contracts and supplemental agreements.Expected to take the lead in project-specific teams, and manage projects and tasks.Contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems.Ensure work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards.Coordinate with internal project staff, subconsultants, and clients.Facilitate engagement with public and agency stakeholders.Present to clients and key stakeholders in a professional, responsive, and client-focused manner.Provide leadership, direction, technical guidance, and function as a mentor to technical professionals to assist in their training and development.Strong project and schedule management skills, organizational skills, commercial awareness, and financial control.Positive and practical with experience of managing resources, mentoring, and inspiring teams to exceed client expectations. Maintain and develop excellent professional relationships which can secure repeat business.Provides consultation and advice throughout the company on matters within area of ITS and Traffic Engineering expertise.Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients and colleagues. Excellent spoken and written English.
What will you contribute?B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.This level may be achieved by Engineers with fifteen years of experience since B.S. or 10 years since M.S.Project development for Nevada DOT projects, preferred.Project development for City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, and Clark County, preferred.Typical incumbent has 20+ years of experience.Nevada P.E. license is required within six months of hire.Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license a plus.Technical writing, computer and communications skills required.Experience with Bluebeam preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
