The Clinical Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients and members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist performs medication order evaluation and verification, drug distribution, sterile and extemporaneous compounding, technical supervision, and clinical services.
ResponsibilitiesMajor job responsibilities include: medication order evaluation (to include but not limited to appropriateness and effectiveness) and verification, drug distribution support, technician supervision, clinical intervention, formulary management, and resource for nursing and physician medication related inquiries.
QualificationsEducation / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Licensed or license eligible as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Current board certification by Board of Pharmacy Specialties® or must obtain within 2 years from date of hire
Current certification in Basic Life Support or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification as determined by pharmacy leadership
Experience (required and preferred):
Training/Experience:
Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency preferred
