In this role you will:Participate in projects for Network Operation improvementsReview and analyze history of network related incidents and perform preventive measuresTroubleshoot network related issues and communicate with customersImplement best security practicesAssist in managing network service providers and equipmentProvide capacity analysis and planningKey Responsibilities:
Interact with external customers to troubleshoot any network connectivity related issuesPartner closely with Network Architects and Engineers to improve data-center network environmentsInitiate multiple projects for Network Operation improvementsPartner with internal business units to best understand the organization's needs and continuously improve and apply standards for operational excellenceReview, analyze and execute network change requestsExecute, document, and develop network automation for repetitive tasksRequirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medium to large networks, IP Routing, Switching, and Security principlesDemonstrated knowledge of platform operating systems (router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) MPLS, OSPF, and BGP, and how they interact with the networkDemonstrated operational success with an exceptionally strong data-driven analytical approach towards solving complex challengesHands-on skills for Cisco IOS is required and Nexus OS preferredDocumenting solutions with diagrams and proper description is requiredKnowledge and experience in Cisco Nexus 7k/5k/2k, Palo Alto firewalls, ASR 1000 and 2000 Routers, 3750 and 4900 Switches, SSL-VPN, authentication serversKnowledge and experience in load balancing technologies such F5 and AVIExperience with incident response, information assurance, computer security best practices, system hardening, vulnerability management, antivirus, SIEM, firewalls, IPS/IDS monitoring, and techniques for analyzing TCP/IP network traffic and event logsTelecommunications experience - VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking and SBC is a huge plusExperience with implementations of solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing plans, site2site VPNs, FWs, IPSec, monitoring, etc. is a plusExperience with network analysis tools- netflow, snmp, packet brokers, etc. is a plusKnowledge of Linux network functions; SaaS/Cloud-based software environment a plus, but not requiredExcellent communications, both oral and writtenThis role is fully remote for candidates who reside at least 50 miles away from our San Francisco or San Ramon office locations.
