Our client, a highly regarded Houston area law firm, seeks a defense litigation associate who possesses a strong desire to try lawsuits, displays

disciplined

tasks
assigned
to
them.
As
a
litigation
associate, you
will
work
closely
with
partners
and
senior
associates
on
serious
personal
injury defense
lawsuits
and
complex commercial litigation matters; conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions, draft discovery requests and responses, review documents and oversee their production, depose (and sometimes
prepare
others
to
depose)
fact
and
expert
witnesses,
participate
in
strategy
sessions,
prepare cases for trial, and actively participate in trial.Responsibilities:Assistwithallstagesoflitigation,includingpleadings,motions,discovery,andtrials. Conduct legal research anddraft memoranda and briefs on a variety of legal issues.Workcollaborativelywithpartnersandseniorassociatestodevelopandimplementlitigationstrategies. Communicate with clients and opposing counsel in a professional and effective manner.Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure that they are completed accurately and on time. Demonstratedisciplineandattentiontodetailinallaspectsofwork,includingtimemanagement, organization, and document review.Attendandparticipateindepositions,hearings,andtrialsas needed.Requirements:JurisDoctordegreefromanaccreditedlawschool with e
xcellent credentials (top 25% of class preferred).Admitted to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing.Minimumof
