A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mid-Level Personal and Succession Planning Associate Attorney to join their team in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, private trust companies and family offices, business succession planning, charitable giving strategies, and private foundations. Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families on estate planning strategies.Provide counsel on forming and administrating private trust companies and family offices.Develop and implement business succession plans for family-owned businesses.Create and execute charitable giving strategies, including establishing private foundations.Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.Collaborate with clients to assess their financial situations and develop comprehensive estate plans.Work closely with clients’ financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective planning.Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting personal and succession planning.Represent clients in estate and trust litigation when necessary.Participate in the firm’s business development initiatives and contribute to building client relationships.Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in estate planning, private trust companies, family offices, business succession planning, and charitable giving strategies.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional drafting skills with attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized and capable of managing complex client needs and cases.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.LL.M. in Taxation is a plus but not required.Certifications
Active member in good standing of the Ohio State Bar or eligible to waive in.Skills
Deep understanding of estate planning, including tax implications and strategies.Proficiency in drafting estate planning documents and agreements.Familiarity with the formation and operation of private trust companies and family offices.Knowledge of business succession planning techniques and tools.Expertise in charitable giving strategies and the creation of private foundations.Strong research skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations.Excellent client service orientation and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Job Location
