What you will be doing:Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.Manage and optimize databases to ensure availability and reliability.Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.Work closely with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure databases meet organizational needs.Perform other duties, as assigned.What you already have:
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.3+ years' experience in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server)Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance preferred.Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in utilizing Azure services.Proficiency with database technologies Sql Server Integration Services, Sql Server Reporting Services, PowerBI, Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks.Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.Proven skills with database design and data modeling.Familiarity with database development tools (Sql Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, Azure Storage Explorer, Visual Studio)Demonstrate strong organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.Ability to think critically and objectively.Desire to live Slide's Core Values.
