Sun Country Airlines is seeking a

Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing

to bolster the team as we expand our business. The Senior Manager will organize and lead the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of goods and services contracts to meet the needs of the airline.

The

Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing

will have a measurable track record of conducting market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate product offerings and analyze industry trends to ensure that Sun Country Airlines is sourcing the most optimal deals for materials and services. The successful candidate will need superior experience in creating cost models to accurately analyze the total cost of ownership for various goods and services and use these models to negotiate quality terms and services with suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a passion for leading purchasing initiatives, and demonstrate an ability to recommend innovative and sound solutions. Additionally, effective communication skills and a drive for collaborating with stakeholders across a broad spectrum of the airline’s functions is critical to ensure that Sun Country can successfully source goods and services at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Working closely the Senior Director and members of the management team to develop and implement robust strategic sourcing processes that align with company objectives

Identifying cost-saving opportunities, evaluating new technologies, monitoring the competitive landscape, and leveraging supplier relationships to drive value for the company

Collaborating with internal stakeholders, often organizing cross-functional teams to lead the sourcing and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives

Managing RFP projects to source high-impact goods or services; leading communications, which will include soliciting and discussing proposals, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and working to resolve any issues that arise

Preparing insightful presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders which may involve comparing multiple suppliers, ownership costs, value drivers and market insights

Continuously innovating best practices to optimize the airline’s supply chain governance and operations to ensure the needs of internal stakeholders are well satisfied

Developing and maintaining key metrics to measure the performance of the department, calling attention to active workload and project status

Ensuring projects are carried out in compliance with the company’s purchasing policies and procedures

Coaching and developing a strategic sourcing team; this may include recruiting and hiring staff, providing ongoing training and developing talent within the team; Ensuring all projects and deliverables are produced timely, accurate, complete, with relevant information

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or other analytical field, or equivalent training/experience

5 or more years of finance, business administration, consulting, procurement, project management, or similar experience

Track record of analyzing data, generating cost-saving opportunities, identifying risks, negotiating effectively, and managing multiple projects simultaneously

Tested ability to analyze complex contracts to ensure they align with business objectives, mitigate risks and deliver scalable value to the company

Experience building financial models and conducting financial analysis

Ability to consistently function at a high level in a dynamic and competitive industry

Innovative analytical techniques; ability to synthesize information for senior management and develop sound solutions

Exceptional communicator; ability to build impactful relationships and provide clear insights

Effective contributor; highly proficient in using Microsoft Office tools; other platforms a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Degree

Familiarity with the airline industry/airline economics

Proven ability to design and enhance purchasing policies and procedures at the enterprise level

Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), Certified Professional Purchasing Consultant (CPPC), or similar designation a plus
